Important Voter Registration and Mail-In Ballot Information for NJ Mercer County Voters

As the November election approaches, it’s crucial to ensure that you and your family are ready to cast your votes. Whether you’re registering to vote for the first time, helping your college-aged children register, or planning to vote by mail, here’s everything you need to know.

Check Your Registration Status

You can check your voter registration status using the New Jersey Division of Elections voter search tool.

Registration Deadline and Ways to Register

If you’re eligible to vote and haven't registered yet, be sure to register by Tuesday, October 15, 2024. You can register by mail, online, or in person. For detailed instructions and links to the registration forms, visit the New Jersey Voter Registration page.

Mail-In Ballot Information

If you or your college-aged children are unable to vote in person, a mail-in ballot is a convenient alternative. Any registered voter can request a vote-by-mail ballot without needing a specific reason.

1. How to Request a Mail-In Ballot:

1.1
By Mail: Download, print, and complete Mercer county’s vote-by-mail application. Alternatively, you can contact the county clerk to request that an application be mailed to you. The completed application must be received by Tuesday, October 29.

1.2
In Person: Pick up, complete, and return an application at the county clerk’s office by 3 p.m. on Monday, November 4.

1.3
By Authorized Messenger: If you’re unable to pick up an application, you can designate an authorized messenger (a family member or a registered voter in Mercer County) to deliver it for you. Be sure to include their name, address, and signature on the application.

Voting by Mail

Mail-In Ballots will be sent out starting September 21, 2024, throughout Mercer County. Once you receive your mail-in ballot, fill it out carefully and return it as soon as possible. Encourage your college-aged children to complete and return their mail-in ballots during Fall break. Remember, the completed ballot must be postmarked by Election Day, November 5, 2024.

Please note, a vote-by-mail ballot cannot be returned to your polling place. You can track the status of your ballot through the Track My Ballot portal.

For additional details, you can visit the Mercer County's vote-by-mail page.
