This week, I witnessed a perfect example of how powerful community support can be. My son, who has been a reluctant cheerleader throughout this campaign, surprised me by recruiting four of his friends to help distribute 400 flyers. We originally had set aside two hours for the task, thinking that it would take most of the afternoon. However, with their combined effort and energy, we got it done in just 30 minutes!
Community Spirit in Action
We weren’t the only ones making strides. A dedicated dad joined in and racked up his steps by delivering 100 flyers solo! It’s moments like these that remind me how impactful things can be when we come together. With the power of collaboration, what individually would have taken hours became a quick, fun task.
Inspiring the Next Generation
This wasn’t only about getting out campaign materials—it was a chance for the high school students to experience real-world campaigning. My son recently decided to run for Secretary of the Student Council! As a parent, this reinforces my belief that kids learn from our actions more than our words. Leading by example is one of the most powerful ways to influence the next generation.
Mail-In Ballots Arriving Soon
If you previously requested a mail-in ballot, it will be in your mailbox this week, so don’t forget to vote for me, Z. Lisa Potter, listed as the second candidate. If your adult children are away at college, remind them that they can request their mail-in ballot to be sent to their campus. The voter registration deadline is coming up soon, so make sure that they’re ready. You can find more information in my voter registration blog.
Get Involved
If you’d like to help distribute flyers, write to us at info@votepotter.org to join our next round. Together, we can ensure that every voter in Princeton knows that they have choices this election season!
